Well, we are approaching Christmas of 2010! The Bayly Family had the plague over Thanksgiving, so I am hoping for a smoother and more comfortable Christmas! Both girls had double ear infections, Greg had a sinus infection and I had strep throat and an ear infection! YUCK! We were all really healthy for about a week and now I have an encore cold! What gives?
Despite the sniffles I have and this disgustingly cold weather, I am very excited for Christmas. Having children has really revived the holiday spirit for us. We have been singing Christmas songs, talking about the meaning of Christmas and of course, using "SANTA IS WATCHING YOU" every five minutes when Brielle decides to abuse her little sister. I am pretty sure she has already called our bluff on that one, though.
Brielle had her first ever school production last week. Greg, Camryn, my parents and I were all there with cameras, video cameras and smiles. When the kids walked out to the stage with their teacher, Camryn went running into the isle chasing after Brielle, whom she refers to as "Ba-elle." My Mom ended up having to hold her in the back, but once the kids started singing, she calmed down, thank God! At any rate, I don't know if this is natural or if I am just a big, emotional mess, but any time little things like this happen, I sob like a baby! Just seeing my adorable little girl on stage, singing and smiling, just instilled so much joy and pride in my heart. My cup truly did runneth over.
In other news, Camryn has taken up what I call "potty sitting." She actually tells us that she needs to use the potty and demands that we put her on the pot. She requires a pretend wipe and a for-real flush. She is no where near ready for this milestone, but I guess seeing her big sister doing it just inspires her. Regardless, it's cute. The independence and determination that comes with second child is remarkable.
Lastly, I am excited to share my 2011 New Years Resolution: Smile more.
